Chip Carving Knives
The Klötzli Knifesmithy has been producing chip carving knives for working with wood or other materials since the 1950s. The “Model 2” in particular has become world-famous and has been copied by numerous manufacturers. It all began with a simple resharpening job: Christian Rubi, the well-known Swiss wood carver, brought his knives to Ernst Ulrich Klötzli. This resulted in the well-known “Model 2” - also often called the “Klötzli knife”.
The Klötzli chip carving knives are still produced in small batches in Burgdorf. The polishing and sharpening is still done by hand, to get that particularly fine and good result. The version with „extra fine“ polish has a mirror polished blade surface which results in even cleaner cuts.
